Amie’s Pet Sitting
Background Checked
Accepts senior/special needs pets
Hello! Thank you for visiting my page !
I offer dog sitting in my home in Stony Plain. Since 2014 I have been involved with fostering rescue dogs with AARCS and volunteering with the Canadian Animal Task Force as a Dog Handler. Twice I have volunteered with displaced animals during wildfires in Alberta.
For the last 5 years I have been dog sitting dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments. I have my pet first aid and cpr. I have also taken reactivity, fearful pets, resource guarding, advanced dog handling courses, and I recently completed Shelter Playgroup Alliance foundations and intermediate courses. In this particular training class I was provided with an in depth look into canine body language and communication and I learned how to manage play groups between dogs. I am an active and registered member of the Alberta Force Free Alliance. It is an organization that upholds using positive reinforcement only methods in all animal practices.
I am 100 percent force free and my experience is primarily with semi feral dogs, dogs who are on the fearful side, and dogs who are fearful around new people. We are an active home and enjoy taking the dogs for long trail walks and adventures to the private fenced in off leash park.
I work at the University of Alberta but I have flexible hours and work from home half of the week. When I am gone dogs are segregated for their safety. I don’t crate dogs unless it is necessary.
My backyard is very sizeable and fully fenced with a 6 foot fence. Dogs are always supervised in the backyard and at all times when they are playing with other dogs.
Dogs are allowed on the furniture and can sleep wherever they are most comfortable.
We can provide daily exercise and believe that it’s important for most dogs to get enough exercise to keep them happy.
We have 3 dogs of our own who are all very dog savvy. They are calm around new dogs and know when to give space when new dogs aren’t ready to be friends yet. We have a few regular clients who routinely come for stays and they are all well socialized, friendly and understand boundaries. If your dog likes to play then we are the spot for them. If they are unsure of dogs that’s okay, our resident dogs and routine guests are fantastic to give space and allow the new dog to ease in at their comfort level.
I provide daily updates and photos the entire time that your dog(s) are in my care. It’s important that your dog is happy and comfortable but that you as the dog parent are also happy and comfortable so I am available around the clock for any questions, updates and pictures.
Since we are a multi dog household we do require that adult dogs be spayed/neutered and that dogs be up to date on vaccinations.
***Dogs 10 months and under are $45 dollars a night ***

I’m more than happy to do a meet and greet a head of time answer any questions you may have :)
We are huge animal lovers and it’s a dogs world over here. We love dogs and taking care of them and ensuring their happiness and safety is my top priority.
